Toxicity Assessment of Produced Water Using Nitrosomonas sp.

چکیده
Aim: Most studies on the effect of produced water are centred effects physicochemical parameters recipient environment, but not much has been conducted biogeochemical processes such as nitrogen cycle. This study aims to determine median lethal concentration (LC50) that would cause mortality 50% exposed population Nitrosomonas sp. (test organism) which is involved in ammonification step Nitrogen cycle.
Study Design: For purpose this study, acute toxicity testing was done for 48 hours untreated and treated wastewater test organism. The LC50 organisms.
Methodology: Toxicity were determined following standard procedures against organism (Nitrosomonas sp). resultant output probit analysis generated from SPSS statistical programme.
Results: Results showed mean at 48-hour period bioassay 3.27mg/L, while found be 6.69mg/L. percentage waster ranged 37%(0.01mg/l) 90%(100mg/l), treated, 27%(0.01mg/l) 84%(100mg/l) end hour duration.
Conclusion: sp increased with time decreased considerably treatment, corresponding positive correlation observed statistically between toxicants respect exposure These results indicate a likey inteference cycle by contamination environment extension impairment productivity environment.

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Toxins produced in cyanobacterial water blooms – toxicity and risks
Cyanobacterial blooms in freshwaters represent a major ecological and human health problem worldwide. This paper briefly summarizes information on major cyanobacterial toxins (hepatotoxins, neurotoxins etc.) with special attention to microcystins-cyclic heptapeptides with high acute and chronic toxicities. Besides discussion of human health risks, microcystin ecotoxicology and consequent ecolog...

Toxicity identification evaluations (TIEs) were performed on seven produced water (PW) effluents from inland discharge facilities operated in Trinidad and Tobago, a Caribbean tropical country with one of the oldest commercial oil industries in the world. The research was performed to determine the presence and magnitude of toxicity and characterize which toxicants are responsible for observed e...
متن کاملEvaluation of produced water toxicity from an oil maritime terminal through Skeletonema costatum toxicity tests
. Abstract: The liquid eftluent from an oil maritime terminal, with produced water as the main component, had its toxicity evaluated through toxicity tests with the diatom Skeletonema costatum. Two previously treated eftluent samples (eftluents A and B), were provided by PETROBRAS for the experiments. Both samples presented high salinity (67%0for eftluent A and 62%0for eftluent B) and low pH va...
متن کاملRapid Assessment of the Toxicity of Fungal Compounds Using Luminescent Vibrio qinghaiensis sp. Q67
Most tropical fruits after harvest are very perishable because of fungal infection. Since some pathogenic fungi can produce hazardous compounds such as mycotoxins, novel rapid and effective methods to assess those hazardous compounds are urgently needed. Herein we report that Vibrio qinghaiensis sp. Q67, a luminescent bacterium, can be used to rapidly assess the toxicities of mycotoxins and cul...
